Frequently Asked Questions

If you don't see an answer to your questions here, please contact us.  We are happy to answer any questions.

The main goal of PAWS People for the Awareness and Welfare of Strays TNR is to help reduce overpopulation of commumity cats through humane TNR efforts.

PAWS People for the Awareness and Welfare of Strays TNR offers trapping, altering, vaccinating and returning of free ranging cats. We also can provide a wide variety of case studies and educational materials.

PAWS People for the Awareness and Welfare of Strays TNR is funded through donations from individuals, corporations, and grants from foundations.

Trapped cats are transported by a volunteer to a veterinarian.  There they will be given a medical exam, altered, vaccinated and ear tipped.  They are given an "all around" parasite treatment.  Then they are transported to a care giver who will monitor them while they recover.  Cats are given food/water after they're awake.  They are returned to where they were trapped after an overnight.

Unless there is a medical reason for that cat to go to the vet, they are released.

They are examined for an injuries and treated when possible.

Yes!  As long as they weigh at least 2 pounds.

We regularly canvas the town looking for gatherings of cats.  We focus on larger breeding colonies but also welcome input from community members.
